Inland Marine Builder’s Risk

Builder's Risk insurance provides real estate developers, contractors, subcontractors, architects and property owners with protection against damage to buildings while they are under construction, renovation or repair. The policy covers property on site or in transit and may be designed to include:

  • Equipment, fixtures and machinery that will be part of the structure
  • Soft costs, such as advertising, financing charges, re-design costs and loss of rents
  • Building materials and supplies
  • Equipment, fixtures and machinery that will be part of the structure
  • Temporary storage structures, forms and scaffolding erected during construction
  • Builder's Risk Green Amendment available

Inland Marine Contractor’s Equipment

Contractors Equipment coverage provides owners, developers or contractors ranging from builders and roofers to road pavers and excavators with protection for tools and equipment normally excluded from a Builder's Risk policy. Our form covers machinery and equipment wherever it is located and may include:

  • Limited automatic protection for newly-acquired equipment
  • Leased or rented property

Inland Marine Construction Block

The Construction Block policy eliminates the need for individual Builder's Risk/Installation Floater policies to cover each project. It is written on a blanket basis with no coinsurance and provides coverage for all client projects until the insured’s interest ceases. The policy options can include:

  • Contractors Equipment (Tools, machinery owned, leased or borrowed)
  • Equipment Rental Cost Reimbursement
  • Protection for equipment, tools and machinery, including those that are owned, leased or borrowed
  • Builder's Risk for ground up construction including coverage at the site, temporary storage and transit
  • Installation Floater that covers materials, supplies and
    machinery for installation
  • Business personal property such as stock, materials, supplies, furniture, fixtures, equipment and tenant improvements
  • Automatic coverage extensions may be increased on a scheduled basis, including:
    Equipment Rental Cost Reimbursement, Employees’ Tools and Work Clothing, Waterborne Coverage, Underground Coverage, Weight of Load, Earth Movement & Flood, Fire Protection devices, Fire Department Service Charge, Scaffolds, forms & false work expenses, Accounts Receivable, Valuable Papers, Electronic Data Processing, Mechanical Breakdown & Electrical Disturbance
  • Riggers Liability
  • Options available for:
    – flexible annual, quarterly or monthly reporting
    – open form pricing that enables clients to know exactly what the insurance will cost
